"He Shaved the Faces of Gentlemen Who Never Thereafter Were Heard of Again”
SWEENEY TODD opened on Broadway in 1979 starring Angela Lansbury and Len Cariou and went on to win eight Tony Awards including
Best Musical. Stephen Sondheim composed the razor-sharp score and his brilliant lyrics are alternately gleeful and gruesome.
A thriller set in Victorian England, SWEENEY TODD tells the tale
of a man just released from jail for a crime he did not commit. The “Demon Barber of Fleet Street” cooks up a
hilariously macabre revenge scheme resulting in this crafty, comedic and captivating thriller. Songs include: “Pretty
Women”, the haunting and melodic “Not While I'm Around”, as well as the deliciously funny “A Little
Priest”.
Other cast members include: Heidi Stoner (Beggar Woman) Robin Downward
(Anthony Hope) Windy Gish (Johanna) Andy Atkinson (Pirelli) Chance Larsen (Judge
Turpin) Chris Matthews (Beadle) and Sierra Houk (Tobias Ragg).
The musical director is Chris Matthews. Teresa Van De Veere Pratt is
the guest director, Cyndi Noyes is the lighting designer/ production
manager, and Pamela Alford is the hair/make-up designer. Janet Eshoo is the costumer. Other contributing members include: Jennifer Allen, John Cole, Jared Reuwsaat, Tim Reuwsaat, Tina Reuwsaat, Wolfgang Runzi, and Tom Symons.
Clifford Allen (Director). Mr. Allen, producing artistic director and owner of Worst Nightmare Productions, has produced various

(1981) and songs for Dick Tracy (Academy Award, 1990). He also wrote songs
for the television production Evening Primrose (1966), co-authored with
Anthony Perkins the film The Last Days of Sheila (1973), and with George
Furth, the play Getting Away With Murder (1996). He provided incidental
